THE REASONING's New EP, "And Another Thing.......", will be released on 12th March 2012.

The EP is released via Comet Music and you can pre-order it HERE.

"Hello, dear friends, we hope that all is well with you. So... (finally) our brand new EP, entitled And Another Thing....... is recorded, mixed and ready for mastering. This is somewhat of a milestone for The Reasoning, since it will be the last of our products to be released via our independent label Comet Music. This makes it a very special CD for us, not least because it marks the end of an era and the beginning of a whole new one. The EP is also the first release that's fully representative of our (now nicely established) 5 piece line-up: all band members have contributed to the song-writing for the first time, making it a real team effort. We're SO excited about you hearing these tracks!

So: how do you get hold of it? We have decided to do one last pre-order: this time, you'll be able to get the CD a week before the official release date (12th March 2012), and the first 500 copies will be signed by the band. We have kept the price as low as possible, and pre-orders will be separated into territories - UK / Europe / Rest Of World. This is so that we can be fair when it comes to the pricing of postage, etc.

Anyway, we suppose you want to know the track listing... which is as follows:

All the songs were produced by Matt and mixed by Matt and James Kennedy (who fronts a band called Kyshera: do check them out). In our opinion, these songs sound fantastically fresh and alive - and there are a few little surprises in store as well. We'll be making available a sample clip of all the songs sometime around mid February, so watch this space.

So there we have it, folks. The Reasoning on Comet Music is no more! The next time we release new material, it will be via Esoteric / Cherry Red. In the 7 year operation of Comet Music, we have released 3 studio albums, 1 single, 1 DVD, 1 live album - and now we finish this in style with an EP. A full set! Comet Music will now concentrate on signing other bands, and will post news on how to submit demos etc. in the very near future. For now, it's back to album 4 and making all the exciting plans we have in store come to fruition.

IONA - Upcoming UK Dates March to June

IONA have six UK dates taking place during the first half of the year with the possibility of more to follow.
Their first date is on March 01st in Canterbury.

After a couple of days rehearsals in London, the band will be on the road again in a month's time for the first of 6 UK dates in the first half of this year, interspersed between tours in Switzerland and the USA. We're hoping to add further UK dates (possibly some in Ireland) later in the year.

We hope you can make it along if there's a gig in your locality - and do bring your friends! Kicking off the tour is the band's first ever gig in Canterbury, which we're very much looking forward to.

FRANCK CARDUCCI - Oddity (Album Review)

Franck Carducci is a multi-instrumentalist (bass, piano, guitar, drums, etc.) and was brought up in a family where music was a way of life.
Franck produced his first melody, on the keyboard of an organ, at age five and mastered Chuck Berry's ‘Rock 'n' Roll’ on guitar by age eleven.
He joined his first rock band at fourteen.

After this he played with numerous bands and appeared on around fifteen albums.

In 2008, Franck moved to Amsterdam where he gets into the local scene and performs regularly in the famous clubs of the city.

Then in 2010, Franck opened a gig for one of his heroes, Steve Hackett (Genesis).
This experience convinced Franck to focus on producing his own solo album and then came "ODDITY".

"Oddity" opens with the fifteen minute track, "Achilles", and if you are into traditional prog (1970's), like myself, you will really love this one. It has a powerful sound, lots of keyboards, guitars and tempo changes and reminds me of Genesis, Camel, Pink Floyd etc.
Definitely my favourite track on the album.

"The Quind", has great harmonies, piano and organ and I must say that I am impressed with the vocals on all of the tracks on this album.

Track three,"The Eyes Of Age", is a folky type song featuring violin and a great harmonic finish, certainly a more relaxing song.

Next we go back to more traditional prog with, "Alice's Eerie Dream", more rockier type music with Hammond and loud Gilmour-like guitar.

"The Last Oddity", starts slowly with acoustic guitar and mellotron and builds up into a rocky, bluesy number which echoes the Camel/Floyd influences.

Bonus track, his cover of "The Carpet Crawlers", was not bad don't get me wrong; but after listening to the original many times I found it hard to like. Certainly a very brave try.

All in all this is a great album and the two longest tracks, Achilles & Alice's Eerie Dream, are my favourites.
Even though you can hear the influences of other bands on the album Franck still stamps his own authority on the songs.
This album contains all the attributes you would expect of a good progressive rock album and I hope that there is a follow-up in the offing.
Have had, "Oddity", now for over three weeks; and still playing it, so that says it all.

BEN SOMMER - Super Brain (Album Review)

Edgy, political prog rocker BEN SOMMER's new album is called "Super Brain".

The album is the follow up to, "America'd".

I am told that, "Super Brain", was supposed to be Ben's debut album, around nine years ago; but he chose not to release it back then.

Anyhow, now finally released for all to hear, I must say it's a step up from "America'd".
Again I must warn you that traditional prog it is not; but if you like all forms of rock music, as I do, there is a lot to enjoy on this album.
Once again the songs are mainly about Ben's opinions on politics and consumerism and this time around you can definitely hear the Zappa influences.

Opening track, "Young Turks", could have been left over from his previous album, and if I found the tracks on middle section of this album too short, my only criticism is that this one is a little too long.

Enjoyed "I Married a Prostitute" and "Baby Mother" with the lyrics of the latter being oh so true in Britain today.

As I said earlier I found tracks 4 to 6 a little short in length; but even so they certainly get Ben's message across. Love the guitar squeals on "Cadaverism".

"Fist", is the most commercial track on the album and I certainly enjoyed this one as did I the Rush styled "De Profundis" with it's guitar and haunting keys.

"Dark Grey Matter", has some great bass and guitar work, great stuff.

The final two tracks "Deo Gracias Anglia" & "Cloaca Maxima" seemed a little bit complexed to me; but then after several plays they became very addictive.

This album is certainly better than, "America'd", and Ben's brand of music gets better and better.
You must play this album several times as the complexity of the songs require more than one listen to make a judgement.
Ben is certainly an accomplished guitarist and I cannot fault the production and humour on this album.
I must say I admire people like Ben as, even though I really love traditional prog, he is not afraid to break the norm and take prog several steps further.
Would be interesting to hear Ben play his music live.

What next?, only Ben can tell us this; but I am quite sure that he will continue to play, compose and record his unique style of prog.

OLIVER WAKEMAN To Present The Classic Rock Society's Awards

OLIVER WAKEMAN will be the special guest presenter at the CLASSIC ROCK SOCIETY's Awards Night on Saturday 3rd March at Montgomert Hall in Wath-upon-Dearne, Rotherham.

Oliver has recently played with both The Strawbs and Yes; and will be releasing a new solo album, "Cultural Vandals", in 2012

Members are reminded that they only have until tomorrow to cast their votes.

Some of you may be familiar with the Classic Rock Society in the UK. It has been running for many years now tirelessly supporting musicians and putting on concerts as well as releasing a bi-monthly magazine.

Each year there is an awards ceremony and awards are handed out to the musicians voted for by the readership. Oliver was fortunate enough to win the best Keyboard Player award on three separate occasions!

This year, however, Oliver has been asked to be the guest presenter at the awards and hand out the awards to the lucky winners. It should be a great evening and Oliver is looking forward to meeting up with lots of old friends!

Oliver and guitarist Gordon Giltrap have started work on a new collaboration, which although in it's very early stages, is progressing very quickly.

"Gordon and Oliver first met during one of his Dad's Christmas concerts where they both performed back in 2009. Gordon recently contacted Oliver with the offer of performing on his next solo album but this soon changed into a full scale collaboration. The final tone of the album hasn't been decided upon yet as both are keen to let the music lead the way but it will certainly be a welcome addition to both their catalogues!"

After a four-year break since her last album, Lana Lane is back with her most powerful release to date, "El Dorado Hotel." The veteran symphonic rock diva delivers a 10-song tour-de-force of finely crafted original tracks in an audiophile production by husband/keyboardist, Erik Norlander. When asked about the long break between "El Dorado Hotel" and her previous release, "Red Planet Boulevard" (2007), Lane replies, "As an artist, you hope that you have something new to say with each record. This became harder and harder to do – especially when during some years, there were two or more new Lana Lane records released. I only want to release top-quality, sincerely crafted albums, and I certainly don’t want to release an album just to release 'something.' OSI To Release Brand New Album At The End Of March

OSI will release their new album, "Fire Make Thunder", on March 27th 2012.

"Fire Make Thunder marks the fourth undertaking for the collaborative duo known as OSI. Formed in 2002 by Jim Matheos (Fates Warning, Arch/Matheos) and Kevin Moore (Chroma Key, former Dream Theater keyboardist), OSI is a long distance partnership, both musicians typically writing and recording alone and sending song ideas back and forth for further elaboration. Written and recorded throughout most of 2011, this latest release once again reflects the eclectic influences of both Matheos and Moore.

Fire Make Thunderis slated for a March 27th release via Metal Blade Records. Today OSI unveils the artwork and the tracklisting for their fourth release.

Returning as the band's session drummer is Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree, this time co-writing one of the tracks with the band. All other instruments and programming were performed by both Matheos and Moore, while vocals and lyrics were handled exclusively by Moore.

All of the recording for Fire Make Thunder, with the exception of drums, was done by Moore and Matheos at each musician's respective home studio with drums being recorded at Harrison's home in London. Final overdubs as well as some additional writing/arranging was completed in July 2011 in Jamaica, Iowa, where the band mixed alongside engineer Matt Sepanic at Sound Farm Studio and Recording Environment. Mastering was handled by renowned engineer Roger Siebel. The record was produced by both Moore and Matheos."

Landmarq keyboard maestro Mike Varty has filmed a live performance of his composition 'Stormbrewing', a track taken from the 'Entertaining Angels - Special Edition' album. The track is a short introductory piece to the song, 'Thunderstruck'. Performed by composer Mike on his parents' baby grand piano (see YouTube video at the bottom of this posting).

Also look out for the next issue of "Classic Rock Presents Prog" magazine number 23.

RPWL To Release Their Concept Album "Beyond Man and Time" On March 13th

RPWL will release a concept album titled, "Beyond Man And Time", on March 13th.

There will also be a European tour, commencing in April, to promote the album.

"12 years after the formation of one of Germany's most successful art rock bands the Freising quintet RPWL takes its first shot at a concept album. "Beyond Man and Time" is a musical journey through the world outside of Platon's cave. On March 13, 2012 the record will be released in a standard version as well as an exclusive bonus edition that includes an audio book. The record will also be presented live across Europe in April 2012.

"6,000 feet beyond man and time" - that is how Nietzsche once signed off the first lines of his opus magnum "Thus Spoke Zarathustra". Quite similar to Nietzsche, RPWL's story's protagonist is on a journey and meets various characters, partly adapted from Zarathustra, as means towards new insight. The basic idea in this is a so-called "revaluation of values" in terms of a new way of thinking. In this world "beyond man and time" there already are creatures of higher knowledge that the protagonist meets allegorically along his way: the keeper of the cave, the willingly blind, the scientist, the ugliest human, the creator, the shadow, the wise man in the desert and the fisherman. RPWL's concept album "Beyond Man and Time" closes with a first resume, the big noon.

In addition to the regular version of the album there will also be a bonus edition limited of 2,000 copies. This exclusive edition includes an additional audio book that connects the music even more closely to the philosophical approach, plus a topographic map of the new world that is to be explored. Also, RPWL listeners are to be given a special live experience: audiences will be introduced to the record on an extensive European tour in April 2012.

The material is the perfect start for the five musicians as they were translating it into music. MLWZ is Polish Radio's (Alfa Krakow 102,40 FM) progressive rock show which started in 1994, on air every Wednesday between 8:00 and 10:30 pm CET.

Working independently over the last few years, the band has established an excellent fan-base in the UK, and their music has been critically acclaimed. Much of the new album (title to be announced in due course!) is already written, and the next few months will be spent hard at work in the studio. Cherry Red Records' imprint Esoteric Recordings has announced the launch of a new imprint dedicated to new, front line album releases. Since its launch in 2007, Esoteric Recordings has gone from strength to strength as a catalogue label specialising in the genres of Progressive, Psychedelic and Classic Rock. Along with Esoteric's sister labels Atomhenge (home of the Hawkwind catalogue between 1976 - 1997), Manticore and "Kraut Rock" label Reactive, the imprint has built a catalogue of 300 titles and has worked with artists such as Jack Bruce, Barclay James Harvest, Tony Banks, Bill Nelson, P.F.M., Ray Thomas (of the Moody Blues), Tangerine Dream and many more. In April 2011 Esoteric released the new studio album, "A Grounding in Numbers", by the legendary Van Der Graaf Generator to great acclaim and success. Esoteric Recordings label manager Mark Powell said; "The success of the Van Der Graaf Generator album brought many new album projects to our door, leading us to look into the feasibility of launching a front line label. As a result, we are taking the step of establishing a label specifically for new, front line albums, ESOTERIC ANTENNA".

The first release on ESOTERIC ANTENNA will be a new edition of the album "DIVING BELL" by Oxford based band SANGUINE HUM on March 30th 2012, which will also include several new tracks. This will be followed by the release of the new album by SQUACKETT, the collaborative project from YES bass guitarist CHRIS SQUIRE and former GENESIS guitarist STEVE HACKETT in May. ESOTERIC ANTENNA will continue to champion the "new guard" of Progressive Rock by releasing new studio albums by PANIC ROOM in late June and THE REASONING in September. Legendary progressive acts will be further represented by the release of "PARACHUTE REBORN" in late April, a superb, newly recorded revisiting of the classic Pretty Things album "PARACHUTE" with additional material, by the XPT's (a band featuring original Pretty Things members WALLY WALLER, JON POVEY, PETE TOLSON and SKIP ALAN).

ESOTERIC ANTENNA's schedule will continue in the Autumn with a new album from JOHN LEES' BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST expected in October (accompanied by a UK tour to be announced shortly and further European concerts). Further releases by classic Progressive acts are also expected in 2012. The band will be releasing their new album, the follow-up to the excellent, "Satellite", at the beginning of JUNE.

After several months of planning, organising, business meetings and intensive beard-stroking ;o) we are delighted to be able to unveil some amazing news for you...
As of January 2012, Panic Room will be signed to the record label ESOTERIC, which is a part of the major 'CHERRY RED' record company!!!

Up until now, Panic Room have always been an independent band, and we are incredibly proud of all we have achieved since our beginnings. We've done all of this with just a lot of hard work, crazy-long hours, devotion / obsession, and a hell of a lot of passion for our music!And we've never been prouder of the band - or of you, our amazing family of fans - than we have over this last year.

It's this increasing level of success which really makes us want to take bigger steps, and achieve even more than we ever have before...We have been thinking for a long time about whether to stay independent or to sign with a label, who can give us a little more support and promotion and get us to bigger places, while also taking some of the pressure off us when we're having to do every job in the office (of which there are many!); ideally so that we could focus as much as possible on the music.

And then, at the very start of our autumn tour, we were approached by representatives of the label Esoteric, who knew of us through many industry insiders and A & R men, and were very keen to sign us! This was great timing as the band's energy and buzz were higher than ever, embarking on the big UK Tour. This new opportunity on the horizon spurred us on even more!

Esoteric operate under the 'mother' label Cherry Red, and the band will be part of the Cherry Red family... Which is an incredible place to be, and we were honoured to be invited!

To work with a label such as Esoteric / Cherry Red brings a thousand major benefits that it would be impossible for us to ignore - increased promotion in every area, profile-building with a creative team working with us, worldwide distribution with a fantastic new supplier, all the resources and contacts available from a big label, and countless more 'pros' and opportunities that we we wouldn't have had at our fingertips otherwise.

We met with the bosses of both Esoteric and Cherry Red, and we hit it off with them straight away; they're well-known and respected in the industry for being good people and being one of the rare companies in the music industry to really treat their artists right, and we could tell straight away that this was true on every level, and we'd be happy working with them.

When you've been working as a small team for a few years, and close friends for even longer, it can be daunting to let others in... But as soon as we met the Esoteric and Cherry Red folks, they felt like friends to us, and we knew they'd easily feel like an extension of our band family.

So, after careful consideration of all the details - of which there were many! (and after so long 'independent', you know your business inside out & need to be very careful and thorough) - we all discussed it as a band, and it was a unanimous 'Yes'!!!And so, we decided to go for it, and sign with the label!

It's not just a win-win situation, signing with a label, and that's why it takes a lot of careful consideration; particularly in these difficult times for the music industry.There are some sacrifices you make, for sure.... For example, giving away some of your profit.But when we will have the full backing of such a great label, and all the opportunities coming our way, plus we will maintain full creative freedom and still be mostly independent with our gig bookings etc... Well, weighing up the pros & cons, it was a 'no-brainer'!!!

Esoteric are a very well-respected label, and for 2012 they wanted to launch a whole new era of the label by concentrating on new 'front-line' releases - new bands, new albums, nothing but exciting new projects.They have great success with re-issues on their label too, but they wanted to differentiate all of this new material by branding it as something special - so, the new brand will be called 'ESOTERIC ANTENNA'.... reaching out to new horizons!

PANIC ROOM are very proud to be a part of this new venture for the label, and to be signing with them for our next album - Panic Room 3.Our first two albums will also be re-printed and released by Esoteric, so in total there will be all 3 of Panic Room's albums available to buy through Esoteric / Cherry Red!

We are currently working on finishing songs for the new album, which we'll start recording on 18th January (!!!)... and while the recording should be finished by late-February, our record label (!) want to give the album a serious push from then until its release, so currently we are anticipating a release date of late-May / early-June.This will build excitement for the album, and see it reviewed and plugged in all the right places ahead of its official release.

This special issue will be called "Entertaining Angels - Special Edition" and will include the new album plus a bonus disc, in it's own separate sleeve, that contains the tracks we were unable to squeeze onto the main album. All wrapped up in a 'Special Edition' slip cover.

So why the 'Special Edition'?Well, we had more material than we could fit into a single CD but it was not possible to extend to a double album due to the extra expense. Choosing which songs to leave out was very difficult. However, following talks towards the end of 2011 with our friends at QEDG (management), we found we were able to include a second disc.
We're really excited that we are able to release the 'Special Edition' but please note that this will be a limited issue and only available for a short time.
"Entertaining Angels" (the main single disc album) will be held back for a little while and we'll have more details about this release in due course.

While many people see the end of the Mayan calendar on December 21, 2012 as ‘doom and gloom’ and the possible end of the world, the Native elders teach that it simply is a transitional period where the world as we know it changes into a ‘new’ world existence.

The second release iof Prog Tuesday is “The Lisa LaRue Collection” which is a compilation of tracks from LaRue’s previous albums over the last 16 years, including “That Ol Sofkee Spoon,” “Ama,” “Transformation 2012,” “World Class” and “Fast and Blue.”

“With each CD release, more and more people have become aware of my music and concept albums, and are intrigued. Desiring to hear previous work, the idea of a ‘collection’ of the catalog seemed a logical release,” LaRue stated. The CD contains samplings of her solo work as well as work with musicians such as Native American flutist John “Yafke” Timothy, John Payne (Asia featuring John Payne) and Michael Sadler (Saga). It also includes the track “256 Leagues Above New Orleans,” nominated for a Hollywood Music Award as “Best Instrumental Song of the Year” in 2008, and work with her band Lisa LaRue 2KX, nominated as “Best Instrumental Artist of the Year” at the 21st Annual Los Angeles Music Awards."

GAZPACHO have announced nine dates to promote their new album, "March Of Ghosts".

Their 7th studio album will be available on Kscope from 27th February 2012.

"March Of Ghosts" is the band's follow-up to "Missa Atropos", which was released on Kscope in 2011 along with the live album, "London".

While "Missa Atropos" was a long story about one person leaving everything behind, "March of Ghosts" is a collection of short stories.

The idea was to have the lead character spend a night where all these ghosts (dead and alive) would march past him to tell their stories. Characters include Haitian war criminals, the crew of the Marie Celeste, a returning American WWI soldier who finds himself in 2012 and the ghost of an English comedy writer who was wrongly accused of treason.
They are short stories. They are a march of ghosts. They are tales that need to be told. And these tales can be heard from February 27th 2012."

OhioProg 2012 which was scheduled to take place from September 7th - 9th, 2012 at the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, Ohio has been cancelled.

The organisers posted the following message...

"OhioProg 2012 turned to crowd funding platform to make tickets available for the three-day progressive rock festival in an attempt to ensure enough people would attend to cover the costs and expenses of holding such a grand event. The Kickstartercampaign ended on January 2, 2012 with only 60 tickets pledged. A total of around 400-450 tickets pledged at the various levels would have reached the funding goal.

"The festival adopted Kickstarter's project criteria in that, it is all-or-nothing funding. So, since the goal was not reached OhioProg 2012 has been cancelled. Also, because funding on Kickstarter is all or nothing, all pledges have been automatically cancelled.

"We thank the many that did pledge and committed to attending the festival. The support meant a lot. We'd also like to thank those at the Canton Palace Theatre and those in the Canton area who have been very gracious to our staff and efforts. And, of course, all of the bands who were invited to perform at OhioProg 2012, we thank you for believing in our event!"

The "Always" (1992) line-up of the Dutch progressive rock band THE GATHERING has announced plans to appear at several festivals next summer following their 20th-anniversary celebration concert in April.

The first confirmed performance will take place at the Dokk'em Open Air festival 2012, which is scheduled for June 29th & 30th at Spriens Raard in Dokkum, Netherlands.

"After years we (THE GATHERING) came in contact again, thanks to Facebook, with the nice people from Acrostichon (Corinne and Richard). Of course, we talked a lot about the good old days, especially the ones we had at the Willem II concert hall in Den Bosch. There was a matinee gig every month (I think it was every last Sunday), and we saw some great bands such as Candelmass, Morbid Angel, Death, and, of course, we played there as well. Those days were so much fun. We had a great nostalgic trip talking about those days. Soon we came to the conclusion we would love to do this again!

As you might know, our debut album, 'Always…', is almost 20 years old (April 1992). I contacted all old-school The Gathering 'Always…'-era members and everybody immediatly liked the idea to do something together. An old-school doom/death party! Acrostichon released their debut album, 'Engraved In Black', almost the same period, and our friends from Pentacle released their debut demo,'Caressed By Both Sides', as well 20 years ago. Why not celebrate this?

So, grab your agenda: The Gathering, Acrostichon and Pentacle will play live together at the Willem II (now called W2) Sunday afternoon 1st of April (no joke!), 2012! Like 20 years ago, Acrostichon will be headlining, The Gathering and Pentacle will be support acts.

Last, but definitly not least: All profit will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation."

The current line-up are at present recording the follow-up to 2009's excellent, "The West Pole", album.

"...the band rolled into a quiet and sleepy Southend on Sea in England on the way back from a European date...

At 7.00 AM I was busy writing "Rude Roadies and too much gear do not get applause" on the side of another band's van in Verviers Belgium after a very tiring performance to an enthusiastic crowd of around 300 people there - and enduring some tiresome behaviour by the aforementioned band.. 12 hours and 500 miles later, a totally exhausted Tangent walked on stage in front of small Sunday audience at Southend, - and we feel we delivered an absolute classic.

A lot of things go really wrong when you're in a band, but occasionally things go right. Steve Cattermole, the sound guy at Bar Riga in Southend, decided to record the show.. both sound and (with just one camera) video. A " Straight from Mixing Board" recording is never a particularly good thing - the mix is usually unbalanced and dead. But not this time! Steve managed to produce a superb recording of the band live - and with some audience footage added to the mix we've been able to cobble together a full Tangent live show for a download that we hope you will all enjoy over Christmas!!!"

"Don't expect "Genesis" style video quality - it's Black & White and as a lot of it is hand-held, it's a bit shaky in places. But the performance is a Tangent classic.

While we are not putting a price on this, we would be very grateful if you could donate something towards the financial nightmare of keeping the Tangent going. We reckon that 1and a half hours of music that you can enjoy for many years is at least worth the price of a takeaway pizza and a beer.

It's up to you how much you decide to donate - anyone who gives us more than 12.98 GBP will be sent a DVD-R or CD-R of the gig in a rudimentary printed sleeve in a plastic wallet to an address of their choice. This will also have a couple of extras on it. DVD's will be sent out in mid January."

SEVENTH WONDER Withdraw From FUSED FESTIVAL 2012

The 2nd Fused progressive and symphonic festival, takes place at Lydney Town Hall from May 25-27th 2012.

The line up announced so far is as follows...

Next year's SUMMERS END FESTIVAL will take place from September 28-30th 2012 at Lydney Town Hall in the Forest of Dean.

K2, MANNING and SUNCHILD have been booked for the event so far.

First of all, we are delighted to announce the dates of the 8th Summers End Festival, which will be held on September 28-30th 2012 at Lydney Town Hall in the Forest of Dean. This will be our fifth Summers End at Lydney!

As some of you will be aware that we have extended offers to two of the bands that could not make the Festival in 2011, K2 (featuring Spock’s Beard’s Ryo) from the USA and Sunchild from the Ukraine. We are hoping that both these bands will be with us in 2012, and we are also happy to announce the happy return of Manning. Having played the Festival in acoustic form in 2006, the electric version of the band have gone from strength to strength and have recently released the critically acclaimed “Margarets Children”. After being unavailable for a few years ARJEN LUCASSEN's AMBEON project album, “Fate of a Dreamer”, will be reissued in a brand new, expanded edition on December 19th.

This new expanded edition of “Fate of a Dreamer” will come as a 2-CD digipack that includes all of the tracks from the original release, the bonus tracks from the “Cold Metal” single, plus 14 un-released acoustic versions of Astrid singing a selection of Ambeon and Ayreon tracks.

The expanded edition of AMBEON Fate of a Dreamer is a 2-CD digipack with an 20-page booklet. CD1 contains all of the tracks from the original release, plus three additional tracks that were exclusively found on the "Cold Metal" single.CD 2 contains 14 never-before-heard "unplugged" versions of Astrid singing both Ayreon and Ambeon tracks, with Ewa Albering on flute, Dewi Kerstins on cello, and Arjen on acoustic guitar.

These acoustic tracks were recorded in 2001 during rehearsals for a live performance which, sadly, never took place. When Arjen revisited these recordings in preparation for the re-release, he was amazed at the quality of both the sound and the performances, so he decided to make them available for everyone to hear.

STEVEN WILSON Announces London Date

Steven Wilson will play one UK solo show on his Spring European tour.

This will be at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London, on Tuesday, May 15th 2012.

The Porcupine Tree member has also stated that one of the dates on this European tour will be filmed for a DVD and Blu-ray release.

"The second leg of the Grace for Drowning tour will start at the beginning of April and run through to mid May. Those of you who have see the band Live at Christmas time this year (and last) will know that Anne-Marie and Jonathan have performed a very intimate and spine-tingling version of this Christmas Carol in the band shows, and we know just how much you have loved hearing this.... And so we decided we would do something a little special this festive season for you, and get in the studio and record it!!!

The song is simple and (we hope) quite breathtaking, and we really hope you love our recording of it....It features the vocals and guitar of Anne-Marie, and grand piano and keyboards by Jonathan.Although the song doesn't have the rest of the band playing on it (being an acoustic track), this is a gift from all of us in the band to You, and we hope you will feel our special Panic Room love and energy in every note, and feel free to listen, download, and share with your loved ones too!

PALLAS - Festive Free Download

PALLAS have announced a festive free download of their cover version of ELP's, "Black Moon".

The song was supposed to be for Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine's free CD celebrating Emerson Lake and Palmer's reunion.
However, due to legal issue this CD was never released.

At last, the song you never thought you'd hear!

In March 2010, less than 2 months after new vocalist Paul Mackie had joined the band, Pallas were asked by Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine to contribute a cover of an Emerson Lake and Palmer track to a CD that CRPP were planning to give away with the issue of the magazine due to coincide with ELP's reunion headline show at the High Voltage Festival.

The track Pallas chose to record for the CD was Black Moon, the title track of ELP's 1992 reunion album. In their inimitable style Pallas gave the song a new lease of life taking the tune in a far heavier, rockier direction than the original. It would also mark Paul Mackie's recording début with the band.
To cut a long story short, due to legal issues regarding publishing and copyright the CD never saw the light of day and the track was shelved as Pallas set about the recording of XXV.
Now with the festive season once again upon us it has been decided to finally release this lost piece of Pallas history as a FREE download.

So folks, here it is. Download here and enjoy Black Moon a la Pallas.
